Private utility · Google Drive integration
One NAS.
One owner.
Off-site protection.
Personal Backup is a non-commercial utility for maintaining encrypted off-site copies of data from a privately managed network storage device in the owner's own Google Drive account.
How it works
The backup software runs on the owner's systems. This website explains the Google Drive authorization used by the utility. It does not run backups, host backup files, or provide a public sign-in.
Local data
The owner selects data from a personal NAS for off-site backup.
Client-side encryption
The backup process is designed to encrypt its backup archives before they leave the owner's systems.
Google Drive
Encrypted archives are stored in the owner's own Google Drive storage, subject to the account's quota.
Limited Google Drive access
The utility requests permission to work with Drive files it creates or that the owner opens with it. Authorization is granted by the account owner. The app does not request broad access to unrelated Drive contents.
Availability
This is an owner-operated personal tool, not a backup service available to the public. There are no customer accounts, subscriptions, or third-party data-processing services offered here. Read the privacy policy for details of Google account access and data handling.
